Peter Rego is a Registered Physiotherapist. He earned a Masters of Physiotherapy Studies from The University of Queensland, in Brisbane Australia. He is a current member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario since 2010.
Peter began his physiotherapy career with CBI Health Centre in London, Ontario before starting with CBI Health Centre – Danforth in 2010; where he was the clinical manager of a multidisciplinary team from 2013-2018. As of April 2018, he has joined The Physio Studio at CPC team.
Peter’s treatment approach to physiotherapy is based on a comprehensive, interdisciplinary model that encompasses expertise, insight and support from a broad range of perspectives. His patient-base spans from children to adults with various musculoskeletal disorders/injuries and experiencing a wide range of pain and dysfunction; from sports or work injuries, motor vehicle accidents, to those who have recently been diagnosed with neurological disorders, chronic pain, osteoarthritis or recovering from post-operative procedures.
Regardless of patient demographic, Peter strives to deliver research-based, best-practice therapy, putting education first, to promote self-management and preventative health care to his patients. He achieves this through a balance of rehabilitative exercise, manual therapy, soft tissue release, education on postural/biomechanical awareness and frequent collaboration with the patients’ family doctor and other members of the allied health team.
In October 2016, Peter became a Credentialed McKenzie therapist, which he successfully uses to assess and treat most his patients, obtaining excellent outcomes with pain and function. In addition to his clinical role with CPC he also enjoys mentoring physiotherapy students undergoing clinical placements with The University of Toronto and additionally has a past role in lab tutorials with the U of T faculty of medicine.
